At Potomac Valley Cremation Center, providing families with compassionate and affordable cremation services is our guiding philosophy.

Ranging from the very simple to the more all-inclusive, our cremation costs and packages were designed with today's families in mind. Value-driven, each offers a unique set of cremation-related services at a very affordable cost. Please note that additional fees can apply for those individuals exceeding 300 pounds, or for anyone whose cremated remains exceed a standard cremation container. We have 4 different cremation pricing that represent the most popular choices.
Our Affordable Cremation Costs & Packages
Simple Non-Scheduled Cremation:

Includes: Basic services of funeral director and staff, local transfer of your loved one from place of death into our care, transportation to our crematory, necessary permits and authorizations, cremation process, immediate family member identification, minimum alternative cremation container

The $1850 starting cremation price includes basic services, local transfer of remains, transfer of remains to crematory, necessary authorizations, and cremation process in our crematory. This charge does not include the use of facilities and staff for visitation, viewing or ceremony, public or private, prior to the cremation. Ashes are usually returned within 7 business days. If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an alternative container. This container is included in the package and is made of unfinished fiberboard inside or out.
Cremation Pricing Details for Service Customization
Basic Services of Funeral Director and Staff - $2,300
This fee for the basic services of the funeral director and staff includes conducting the arrangement conference, planning the funeral, obtaining the necessary permits, creating and placing the death notice, obituary notice and online obituary, creating video tribute. This fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select. (This fee is already included in our charges for direct cremations, immediate burials, and forwarding or receiving remains.)
Preparation & Care
If you have chosen cremation as the means of saying goodbye to your deceased loved one, understand that there may be a variety of steps required to properly take care and prepare the remains before and after the cremation takes place based on the overall service you have requested.

Use of Facilities & Staff
With any funeral home or funeral service, you will be charged for use of staff and use of the funeral home facility.
- Sheltering of remains per day (after 48 hours) - $100
- Use of facility and staff for viewing/visitation per 2 hours - $ 500
- Use of facility and staff for funeral service - $ 500
- Use of facility and staff for memorial service - $ 500
- Use of Equipment and staff to conduct graveside service - $375
Automotive Equipment
An often over-looked aspect of the funeral planning process is organizing transportation for the various stages of death care. Our services provide transfer from the place of death, a service vehicle or utility van and a casket coach (hearse) that is available should you so choose.
- Transfer of your loved one from place of death (25 mile radius) - $400
- Transfer of your loved one from place of death in Balto./Washington DC Metropolitan Area - $550
- Additional fee per mile, one way - $4.00 / mile over 25 miles
- Service Vehicle for document/permit procurement/flower coach - $175
- Use of Hearse - $500
Alternative Containers
Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition materials (with or without and outside covering). These containers we provide are unfinished wood boxes and fiberboard boxes.

Extra Products and Services
Cremation Urns
$75 - $2,250
No urn is required as remains are returned in a black plastic "temporary" container within 7 business days. We offer a number of options to elegantly hold the cremated ashes that range from $45 to $2,200. Click here to view our selection of cremation urns.
We offer printed materials in a variety of appropriate designs that include 100 memorial folders, a personalized guest register and 50 thank you cards.
Witness Cremation in our Cremation Chapel - $500
Witnessing cremation is the ultimate way to say goodbye and we have a space where the family can be present as the cremation process occurs. Cremation usually takes more than two hours and also requires several more hours before the remains are available.
Express Cremation Service - $250
This is our expedited cremation process, which means that the cremated remains will be available 24 hours from when we receive:
- The next of kin cremation authorization
- The permit from the coroner (if applicable)
- The completed physician portion of the death certificate
- The cremation permit
Mailing of Cremated Remains via USPS to 48 Contiguous States - $175
Out of town? No problem. We can take care of the details of the cremation and mail the cremated remains directly to you.
Crematory Processing Fee - $500
This is the standard fee that covers the cost of running the crematory and is applied to all cremations.

Individuals 300-400lbs - $250.00
Individuals 400-500lbs - $450.00
