Obituary

Obituary for Gloria June Price (Hymes)

Gloria June Price, 70
Feb 1, 1949- Jul 9, 2019
Gloria June (Hymes) Price of Hagerstown, MD., formerly of Junior, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at the Doey's Hospice House in Hagerstown, Maryland. Gloria was born February 1, 1949 in Junior, WV. She was the daughter of the late Vernon and Odie Hymes. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three of her sisters, Loverine Rider, Joan Jones, Dixie Kerns, and their first dog, a beautiful lab, Hunter. Gloria was a Christian and a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Hagerstown, MD. On October 16, 1993, she married her husband Frank Price. Gloria began her career as an EKG, EEG Technician at Memorial General Hospital, Elkins, WV. After that hospital closed, she then moved to Hagerstown, MD, where she worked at Washington County Hospital for 24 years and one year at the new hospital, Meritus Health Hospital before retiring in 2008. In her spare time she enjoyed spending time with her husband and their dog Quinten or watching old movies. She is survived by her husband, Frank of 25 years; her sister, Kathy Skidmore of Junior, WV, brothers, Butch (Wanda) Hymes of Charleston, WV; and Rick (Vicki) Hymes of Junior, WV, and many nephews and nieces. The family would like to thank Gloria's dear friend, Judy Shriner, who gave so much of her time to take Gloria to the dialysis and doctor appointments and being such a good friend over the years. In keeping with Gloria's final wishes, she was cremated and Rev. Johnny Williams will lead a Memorial Service to be held at a later date in West Virginia. The Harman Funeral Home/Potomac Valley Cremation Center, Hagerstown, MD., is in charge of the cremation. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made to the Doey's House - Hospice of Washington County, Inc., 11370 Caring Pathway Lane, Hagerstown, MD., 21742; or the Weaver Church of the Nazarene, PO Box 122, Junior, WV 26275
