Obituary for Ruben Rodgers Jr.

Ruben Rodgers, Jr., of Hagerstown, MD died on October 3, 2019 at Geisinger Holy Spirit Hospital of Camp Hill, PA. Ruben was born September 6, 1953 in Louisiana, the son of the late Ruben Rodgers, Sr., and Mrs. Pearlean Downs.

Ruben Rodgers, Jr. was a United States Marine and a veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked most of his life until he became a disabled veteran. He is survived by one son, Michael Joe Rodgers; one step daughter, Sharounda Shaulette Delaney, and her husband, Sirage Delaney; one step son, James Raymond Farmer, Jr.; eight grandchildren; three sisters, Rubbye Rodgers of Los Angeles, CA, Paula Washington of Monroe, LA, and Clara Marie Rodgers of Delhi, LA; three brothers Willie Mac of Delhi, LA, Linton Rodgers and Miller Rodgers of Tallulah, LA. He has a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Aretha Bea, brother John Henry and Bernestine, and one granddaughter, Semaj Farmer.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2019 from 10:00 am to 12 Noon at Harman Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac Street, Hagerstown, MD. Reception to follow at Bethel Gardens, 356 Henry Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
