Jeanne Goree Otey Storm passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at CharloBe’s Home in Boonsboro, Maryland.
Jeanne (Jingo) was born in San Antonio, Texas on September 28, 1924 and spent her life in Texas before marrying William Willis Storm III in Los Angeles, California in 1945.
As a military spouse, Jeanne moved from post to post through the years raising five children along the way. She worked for American University as a counselor and on the “Documerica Project” at the Environmental Protec]on Agency. In the late seven]es, Jeanne moved to Los Angeles, California to care for her parents and at age 66 accomplished her dream of ge^ng a college degree from Cal State, Northridge. In 2009, Jeanne returned to the east coast and lived in Maryland un]l her passing.
Jeanne enjoyed wri]ng, sketching, and pain]ng. She o_en drew birds, trees, and flowers to decorate the walls of her home. Jeanne loved reading, listening to jazz and rag]me, and spending ]me with her family and her beloved cats Casey and Harvey.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her former spouse USMC Col. William Willis Storm III and a brother Laurence Otey Hunt. She is survived by
her 5 children William Willis Storm IV (Bess), Sharon Lee Mosher (Ken), Jan Elise Storm (Bill), Daniel Hunt Storm (Lanet), and Kathryn Carlyle Mills (Charlie); 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Saint Mark's Episcopal Church, 18313 Lappans Road , Boonsboro, MD 21713 at noon on December 28, 2019 with fellowship to follow.
In lieu of flowers, contribu]ons can be made in her name to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
