Obituary

Obituary for Denny Darryl Duvall

Denny Duvall, age 79, of Frederick, Maryland passed peacefully on 13 Jul 2020 at the Kline Hospice House. Denny was born and raised in Frederick, Maryland. He held a retail sales career at Sears for over 56 years.

He was one of four children born to Roger Duvall and Margaret Lawson and was the beloved husband of Sandra Blizzard-Duvall. Denny will forever be remembered by his loving sisters Ethel, Stephanie; brother in-law John and brother Roger Duvall; children Karen and Wade; son-in law Steve; daughter in-law Courtney, grandchildren Phillip, Ryen and wife, Kendra; Austin, Evan, and Natalie; precious great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Makayla and Madison; favorite nieces and nephews; life-long best friend Bruce Harris; and family friend; Tony Cioffi; along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know him.

Denny loved laughing, being with his family, having fun with friends and offering his sage advice. His selfless commitment and enduring love for family and friends were the hallmark of his character. His magnetic spirit and gracious demeanor are what we will most remember Pappy.

A special thank you to the people at Kline Hospice House in Mt. Airy for their loving care and support during his final days. The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude towards Dr. Moskowitz for his gracious care, understanding and compassion for Denny; as well as Dr. Barakat and Dr. Goldstein for giving him the best care during this difficult time.
Denny touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity. He maintained his familiar sense of humor all the way to the end.

A memorial service will be commenced at a later date. The family request all donations be sent to the wonderful people who gave such amazing care for Denny in his time of need at the Kline Hospice House, Frederick Health Village, #1 Frederick Way, Frederick Health Hospice, Frederick MD 21701.

Denny, I only met you twice, at Tommy Staley's get together and at Aunt Margaret's funeral. Mom says she used to come by and see you at the Sears store when she was living in Frederick. Mom, myself and the rest of our family send condolences to your wife, and your siblings. To hear it from mom you were a great guy.

Uncle Denny, we met briefly a few times. I’m thankful for your assistance in getting us a reliable washer and dryer. Zach always joked that you were a Master Salesman... said you could sell anything to anyone and make them feel like they had just won lottery! Takes a special man to be as dedicated to their work as you were. May you Rest In Peace, and look over Zach for me if you will. You are forever loved. ❤️

I knew you first as Mr Sears. Then I knew you as Sandy's husband. After that, you were Tucker's dad. Finally, I knew you as my friend. You touched many lives and we are all the better for it.
May you rest in peace.
